PRODUCTION

• “Matisse Buffet” a commissioned large wall piece constructed in soft sculpture silk for a Florida Matisse lover. ( 2’ X 8’) for Rona and Alvin Cutler, representatives- Miami Florida.

• Conceptualized, illustrated and produced a line of iron on heat transfers for home craft use. Included over 40 color illustrations. Studied the heat transfer process and how it worked on the Canon CLC copier, researching available papers, working out production problems, contacting cottage industry providers. Designed all display and packaging.

• Did a feasibility study for a local manufacturer’s rep. I designed twenty prototypes for a small gift doll. Studied the feasibility of manufacturing them in cottage industry homes in the local area.

• Created numerous lobbying materials including brochures, photography, cartoons, caricature and copy writing used for various campaigns on the state and local level for various political campaigns and newspapers in Oregon.

• Designed and produced a self promotion brochure for marketing my own educational products to teachers and librarians across the country.

• Designed 2 logos for the Family Research Institute, Washington D.C.

• Designed and produced a graphic design for a t-shirt fundraiser for Portland City Council candidate Bob Koch on the theme “Unrunners Unite!”.

• Originated the concept and was Art Director for a Newsweek ad for the National Psoriasis Foundation Portland Oregon. “ Psoriasis Strikes All Walks of Life” Gail Zimmerman-Director and client,.

• Continuing work and commissions for Dr. Carolyn Bauer, a national and international children’s book promoter and educator. Items produced were prototypes for classroom teaching aids to stimulate children’s interest in reading. Designs included: puppets, banners, constructions, wall hangings, jackets and purses.

• Produced numerous orders for Rose Adams owner of Adams House, Tustin California and Santa Fe New Mexico. Designs included: store displays, clothing, silk animals, Hats, hat boxes, Christmas wreaths and ornaments of silk, valentines and Easter items.

• Designed a masthead for Common Cause newspaper, Portland Oregon.

• Created wearable art creations for manufacturer’s art rep. Sue Nechin shown in galleries and museums nationwide. ( See Shows and Mentions)

• Spearheaded a local designer’s outlet in the form of a cooperative in Mendocino, California. Named “Moonflower”, there were five equal partners designing and creating clothing, working the shop and sharing expenses. We were asked by Joseph Magnin’s to visit their head offices in san Francisco to show our designs. We then filled orders.

• Worked for the Mendocino Creative arts center teaching how to operate an AB Dick printing press to produce graphics for the Center.

• Design-logo, menu and signage-Tony’s Deli, Ft. Bragg California. The logo was sandblasted on the front window.

• I originated the idea of doing a guide map for Sausalito California. I sold the idea to 128 shops, wrote the copy, did the illustrations, hired the typesetter and delivered the finished product to the merchants.

• I was hired by Reis-Manwaring, Marin County California to work on the construction of a shopping mall model.

• I was instrumental in founding Ketchum Tomorrow a weekly environmental newspaper in the Sun Valley Idaho area. I sold advertising, produced display ads, did illustration front pages, did a weekly cartoon strip and wrote articles, did some reporting.

• I served the following accounts in the sun Valley area (not related to the newspaper) providing logos, display ads, and advertising concepts, stationary design and signage:

• I sold, conceptualized, designed and produced a combination promotional brochure for the Prospector Restaurant and condominium development, Ketchum Idaho. I did the comp, hired the photographer, and hired the models. I supervised the photography, produced the illustrations, and created the breakfast menus also.

• Illustrated book Wildlife Communities of Sun Valley An Ecological Approach sponsored by the Sun valley Creative Arts Center. Included 141 mammal, insect and amphibian pen and ink illustrations.

• I was one of three partners in Sun Valley Graphics, an in-house graphic shop for the Sun Valley Company producing brochures, business cards, advertising posters, and display ads.

• I produced the “Indian Summer” brochure for the Sun valley company. Originated the concept, hired the models, photographed the spread, wrote the copy and produced the camera ready artwork.

• I sold and produced display ads and promotional materials for retail shops in Scottsdale Arizona:
